A new (and absolutely fascinating) paper was published on June 1st, 2023 that brings insight into why regular cannabis users tend to have a lower BMI, smaller waist to hip ratio, and increased metabolism.
This paper describes how the endocannabinoid system (ECS) plays an integral role in the development and maturation of fat cells in the body. This paper also describes how these changes may persist into adulthood and many years after cannabis use has halted.
